BUCKEYE'S ALL-PURPOSE CLEANERS

¡@

Buckeye markets five different all purpose/general purpose cleaners; they are: Buckeye Blue, Crossbow, Straight-Up, Workout, and Crossroads.  This article is designed to help you pick the right product for the job at hand.

Buckeye Blue, the oldest of the group, has been around since 1961.  This is the most powerful of all the Buckeye concentrated cleaners.  Blue, when used at 2 fl. oz. per gallon or less to clean floors with floor finish on them does an excellent job of removing soils and ice melter residues without harming the floor finish.  Blue is an excellent hard surface cleaner for any surface where water can be used.

In 1986 Crossroads was introduced, making it the second oldest product in the group.  Crossroads' main claim to fame is that it has a lower cost per gallon for those people who think the cost of Buckeye Blue is too steep.  Although formulated differently than Blue, it has many similar performance characteristics of Blue.

Straight-Up is the third oldest product in the group, premiering in 1988.  The goal of this product was to serve the needs of customers that needed a cleaner that was safe on floor finishes at any concentration, could be used to either damp mop the floor or through an automatic floor scrubber.  Based on pH, the used product can also be discharged to a sanitary sewer any where in the U.S.  Buckeye Blue and Straight-Up served our customers very well for many years.  But the use of Buckeye Blue and Straight-Up in automatic floor scrubbers and their ability to foam caused concern and problems that need to be addressed.

Crossbow is the newest product in the group released in 1997.  Crossbow was developed to answer the foaming concerns in the automatic floor scrubber pick-up tanks.  Buckeye decided to keep all the excellent qualities of Straight-Up and make the new formulation have little or no foaming capabilities.

¡@ Workout is the forth oldest product in the group.  It was released in 1992 and marked the Liquescent entry into the all-purpose cleaner arena.  Workout is ready-to-use and removes the toughest soils and greases that can be found in the I&I market.  Just spray and wipe graffiti, grease, and finger-prints right off the surface.  The only surfaces that should be avoided are those made of plastic.  Liquescent products have been known to harm some types of plastics. ¡@
